Goffa International Corp., a toy manufacturer in Carlstadt, New Jersey, has debuted Giffa as a new line of luxury plush for the gift shop industry. Goffa says the new plush line delivers high-end toys at affordable prices.
“Giffa is sophisticated plush that we have been able to manufacture and market as an exclusive luxury brand that is affordable, particularly in today’s economy,” says Danny Song, president of Goffa Toys.
Song notes that the new line debuted earlier this year and has been on display at several industry trade shows. Goffa also offers plush toys for the amusement and mass retail industries. After talking with retailers in the gift industry, Song says he recognized an opportunity to expand and offer a new line of plush for independent retailers, including gift shops, boutiques and floral shops.
Stuart Cohen, vice president of sales for Goffa and the Giffa brand, adds, “With the Goffa global manufacturing solution, we can promise oversized, quality plush at economical prices.”
Headquartered in northern New Jersey with a second factory in Arlington, Texas, Goffa has a state-of-the-art blowing process to stuff plush. The vendor says its largest designs are sewn into plush skins before being shipped to the company’s blowing factories in the U.S. With Giffa styles from 5 inches to 48 inches, the larger Giffa designs can be stuffed in the U.S. to save on shipping expenses.
“You can ship hundreds of sewn skins using the most exquisite fabrics from all over the world in the same space of a few large fully stuffed plush,” Song explains.
Song says the company uses various polyester and synthetic fibers, batting, plastic pellets and beans — or combinations of each — to provide quality control for the proper fill of materials. He says the company also recently updated its factories to increase their stuffing efficiencies.
Giffa plush lines are all original designs. The current Giffa catalog features dozens of unique style plush, including:
- Cuddly Critters: whimsical personalities that come in 14-inch, 22-inch and 36-inch sizes
- Fluffy Friends: plush that activates a positive sense of touch
- Bear Families: groups that include the popular Cubby, Wuvee and Bubby, which range in size from 10-inch to 48-inch options
- Etta and Friends: Giffa’s Etta Elephant and her friends in similar sizes and styles
- Giffa Baby: softer plush made from 100% recycled materials
- Giffa Classics: realistic 5-inch and 9-inch animal plush
