Las Vegas Market Expands Seasonal and Gift Presentations
C7 Remerchandised to Showcase the Category Exclusively
The Las Vegas Market recently announced that its seasonal and gift presentation will expand for Summer 2018 Market with major showroom renewals, relocations and expansions, as well as a remerchandising of Floor C7 to create an exclusive showcase of the category’s leading suppliers. Summer 2018 Las Vegas Market is July 29 to August 2, 2018.

“Las Vegas Market is revamping C7 to support growth by existing anchor tenants and to address increased demand from renewing, expanding and relocating suppliers,” said Leanna John, director of leasing, International Market Centers. “We are remerchandising to improve both the quantity and quality of seasonal and gift merchandise and grouping similar resources together to deliver a more cohesive category presentation.”

Since 2012, the Market has experienced a 223 percent increase in gift buyer attendance and a 240 percent increase in seasonal buyer attendance. In connection with these gains, and related increases in buyer demand for these resources, Las Vegas Market’s seasonal and gift category has been steadily expanding. For the Summer 2018 Market, 32,000 square feet of furniture and home décor showrooms now located on C7 will be relocated to accommodate 32,000 square feet of remerchandised showrooms – opening, expanding and relocating – for Summer Market 2018.

New Features Fueled by Product Data and Imagery
International Market Centers (IMC) has launched a new proprietary website designed to highlight products and categories, enhance exhibitor discovery and simplify market planning.

The new lasvegasmarket.com website is live and is the culmination of two years of research, planning and implementation, according to IMC officials. The new site features a content-rich exhibitor directory and is provided free of charge to IMC customers.

“We are thrilled to bring this new tool to our exhibitor and buyer partners,” said Dorothy Belshaw, president of gift leasing and chief marketing officer. “This first release in our digital strategy is a result of listening, learning and putting our customers at the center of all decisions. We will continue to refine, enhance and personalize these digital tools in the coming months and beyond.”

Belshaw noted that the goal of the new site and digital tools is to enhance access to and discovery of Las Vegas Market exhibitors and to provide tools to buyers that will make market planning more strategic, effective and efficient.

Retailers have high praise for the continued expansion of temporary exhibits at Las Vegas Market. “Las Vegas Market is always good for us, and as the temporaries grow, it is becoming even more so,” said Ray McKenzie, retail director, Filoli Historic House & Garden in Woodside, Calif. “Most of the orders we wrote were there; we will definitely be at Summer Market.”

Sue Fahje, retail manager and buyer for Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium in Omaha, agreed, noting, “Las Vegas Market blew me away this year, with new vendors and so many new lines to explore.
