Moving merchandise frequently has been a helpful way to boost souvenir sales at the Gladys Porter Zoo gift shop.
“The thing I’ve learned since coming here is to move items around,” says Assistant Store Director Gigi Trevino, who now regularly moves products around and even rearranges fixtures regularly to create a more visually engaging store.
She adds, “We’ll constantly move things around, especially for the people who come in to the zoo often. We have a good membership program with people coming once or twice a week, and they usually hit the gift shop. We might not have anything new in a week, but changing the floor set often keeps that appeal alive.”
