It’s not often that you encounter someone whose dedication to their work, their customers and the industry they serve runs so deep. Larry White was one of those rare individuals. He lived and breathed the gift and souvenir business, building relationships, bringing people together and always making sure his customers received exceptional service and support.
Although Larry’s title was advertising director for Souvenirs, Gifts & Novelties, the role he played and the impact he had extended far beyond any title. His smile, his loyalty to his customers and his unwavering commitment to the industry left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him, including the team here at SGN.
We are grateful to have known Larry and to have witnessed firsthand the care and passion he brought to his work. To Larry, customers were never simply accounts. They were friends, trusted business partners and people whose success genuinely mattered to him. His shoes are not just difficult to fill — they are impossible to fill.
"We hope to make you proud, Larry, and take comfort in knowing that the publication you cherished is in good hands."
Over more than three decades, Larry helped shape Souvenirs, Gifts & Novelties into the respected publication it is today. He also played a vital role in ensuring its future when he approached Breakwall Publishing about purchasing the magazine. Because of Larry’s vision and trust, the publication he cared so deeply about will continue to serve the industry he loved.
This magazine is part of Larry’s legacy, and those of us he welcomed into the fold have the privilege and responsibility of carrying that legacy forward. We owe Larry a tremendous debt of gratitude, and as an ongoing tribute to his contributions to SGN, his name will continue to appear on the masthead.
The greatest way we can honor Larry is by continuing to produce the quality publication that retailers and suppliers have relied upon for generations. We hope to make you proud, Larry, and take comfort in knowing that the publication you cherished is in good hands.
Thank you for everything. May you rest in peace.
