Atlanta Market kicked off ANDMORE’s Winter 2025 shows with renewed energy and optimism, drawing buyers from around the globe to AmericasMart Atlanta from Jan. 14-20. With an 8% increase in attendance to open the week, Atlanta set the stage for an abundant buying year for the gift and home industry.
“Atlanta Market was electric this Winter with a surge in buying activity and palpable enthusiasm throughout the AmericasMart campus,” said Jon Pertchik, ANDMORE CEO. “The collective success of our buyers and exhibitors underscores the strength of our industry and the enduring value we provide to our customers.”
The Winter 2025 edition of Atlanta Market welcomed buyers from all 50 states with increased southwestern attendance, plus Puerto Rico, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands as well as over 50 international countries and significant gains in Canadian attendance. The Market attracted some influential retailers, such as Anthropologie, Bergdorf Goodman, Costco Wholesale, JCPenney, Kirkland’s, L.L. Bean, Marriott, NBC Universal, Nordstrom, Target, The Walt Disney Company and Urban Outfitters.
ANDMORE said independent retailers looking to refresh offerings came to AmericasMart Atlanta with the promise of dynamic, cross-category sourcing. Apparel buying was up 10% compared with Winter 2024, highlighting the growing importance of Market activation across three buildings.
“I love Atlanta Market for so many reasons, but the most important is how welcome I feel, combined with a solid selection of vendors,” said Stephanie Gray, owner of Madison Marketplace, a gift and apparel boutique in Roxboro, North Carolina. “This market is so convenient to visit, and I love that I can source products from all over the world in one place.”
With some 15 buying groups present at the gift and home buying event, a vast catalog of buyers converged to diversify their retail mix in the new year.
Heather Smith, president of The Good Toy Group, said, “There is nothing more vital to The Good Toy Group than attending the January Atlanta Market. Every year, but especially in 2025, we reset the retail landscape and set our course for what the future has in store.”
With more than 40 updates to the 1,000-plus gift and home showroom portfolio, AmericasMart Atlanta offered many opportunities for discovery and sourcing at the event. Exhibitors noted the importance of investing in face-to-face opportunities in the physical marketplace.
“There will always be a place for this Market,” said Janice Christensen, president of nora fleming, which expanded in Atlanta this Winter with experiential elements throughout its Building 2 showroom. “The ability to gather and connect with the industry and maintain relationships through in-person Markets is something that can’t be replicated.”
The Winter 2025 launch of Atlanta Market’s over 1,400 temporary exhibitors encompassing seven categories across Buildings 2 and 3 delivered increased exposure to new accounts, according to exhibitors. Temporary offerings this January included exhibitors from more than 20 countries.
“Atlanta Market is the one place where we can meet new accounts from all over the world,” said Juan Weil, owner of Ladorada, an exhibitor in High Design. “Being in the temps is especially special for us because buyers consistently make time to visit our booth. We’ve found an amazing home here.”
The temporary exhibits’ Best Booth Awards featured a “People’s Choice” winner in the gift and home temporaries, leveraging social media to engage buyers and exhibitors alike. This Winter, Table of Clay (wool rugs, pillows and furniture) won the popular vote among four standout contenders. Other Best Booth Awards winners included:
