Miami-based Extol Accessories has announced that its Beadworx and Beyond Borders brands have been officially approved as members of the Fair Trade Federation.
The recognition highlights Extol Accessories’ dedication to ethical business practices, transparency and fair-trade principles in the global marketplace. With this approval, Beadworx and Beyond Borders join a group of businesses that meet rigorous standards for supporting artisans and creating a positive social and environmental impact worldwide.
Beadworx and Beyond Borders specialize in handcrafted, artisanal creations that celebrate the vibrant cultures of their makers. Each piece has a unique story while providing a sustainable income for artisans. Beadworx artisans craft whimsical figurines by bending and wrapping wire frames, which are embellished with vibrant glass beads. Beyond Borders collaborates with metal artisans who transform reclaimed oil drums into artwork to narrate stories and showcase Haiti’s heritage.
The Fair Trade Federation verifies companies deeply committed to fostering safe, dignified and empowering work environments for artisans. Through this partnership, Beadworx and Beyond Borders reaffirm their mission to uphold equitable trade practices, promoting sustainable livelihoods for artisans in Haitian communities.
“We are incredibly honored to be recognized by the Fair Trade Federation,” says Laila Durban, owner of Extol Accessories. “This membership not only reinforces our commitment to ethical business practices but also strengthens our relationships with the artisans who are the heart and soul of Beadworx and Beyond Borders. Being part of the FTF allows us to make an even greater impact in the communities we serve.”
