Aurora World Inc., a provider of plush toys, has acquired Mary Meyer, a branded plush toy company that specializes in baby, general and seasonal plush products. The move solidifies Aurora World’s position as a leader in the plush toy industry and expands possibilities for both brands.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mary Meyer into the Aurora World Inc. family,” says Henry Gweon, CEO at Aurora World. “Their dedication to quality and innovation in the various types of plush products perfectly complements our own values. Together, we look forward to continuing to delight children and families with our adorable creations.”
Aurora World says there is a natural synergy between the two brands. By combining Aurora’s global reach, design expertise and manufacturing capabilities with Mary Meyer’s 90-plus year legacy of plush products, the companies say they will be able to strengthen their product offerings and streamline operations.
Under the umbrella of Aurora World Inc., Mary Meyer will continue to operate as an independent brand, maintaining its distinct identity while benefiting from the resources and expertise of its parent company. Customers can expect the same level of excellence and attention to detail that they have come to associate with both Aurora World and Mary Meyer.
“We are excited about the opportunities that this acquisition brings,” says Kevin Meyer, president at Mary Meyer, who will remain with the acquired company along with other family members. “By joining forces with Aurora World Inc., we can further expand our reach and bring our beloved baby plush toys to even more families around the world.”
The acquisition will allow Aurora World to expand its lineup of plush toys, including new baby-safe designs inspired by Mary Meyer’s legacy. Mary Meyer products will also enjoy benefiting from Aurora World’s extensive national account distribution network, according to Aurora World.
Mary Meyer’s design team will also continue to develop fresh, imaginative plush that consistently captures hearts and sparks imagination.
Michael Kessler, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Aurora World, and Tony Sayles, vice president of sales at Aurora World, will work closely with the Mary Meyer sales team to strengthen synergies between the two companies.
“Our combined strengths will enable us to bring Mary Meyer’s cherished plush toys to a wider audience, ensuring that more customers experience the quality and creativity that both brands are known for,” says Sayles.
Founded in 1981, Aurora World Inc. specializes in creating plush toys for children of all ages and has a reputation for crafting adorable plush toys. Established in 1933, Mary Meyer is known for offering safe, huggable companions for many generations to infants and toddlers alike. Aurora World says the two companies remain committed to fostering creativity, imagination and joy through their plush toys.
