AmericasMart

AmericasMart Atlanta’s January 2016 Market Temporaries will post 100 percent year-over-year growth in international exhibiting companies with globally sourced product presented across all 35 collections, according to JoAnn Miller Marshall, executive vice president of AmericasMart trade shows. The growth in international exhibiting companies parallels continuing expansion for the AmericasMart temporaries mix, which will showcase more than 2,000 exhibiting companies at The Atlanta International Gift and Home Furnishings Market (Showrooms January 12-19; Temporaries: January 14-18).

IGES/SSS

Kathy Eisert of Specialty Printing in Wapakoneta, Ohio, with her commemorative Raggedy Ann doll. Aurora World celebrated the 100th anniversary of Raggedy Ann at IGES by giving a free plush doll to the first 100 buyers to their booth on Friday, November 6.

The 2015 International Gift Exposition in the Smokies® last fall was a great success. Opening day boasted a record number of buyers, and exhibitors shared countless stories of record-breaking results at the 2015 IGES. Between two beautiful convention centers, The LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge and the Sevierville Convention Center, IGES is able to showcase both the tried and true vendors that buyers expect to see plus a number of new exhibitors, keeping the merchandise available fresh and exciting for everyone. This combination provides the best assembly of resort/souvenir merchandise in the nation.

As a wholesale, order-writing only tradeshow focusing on the souvenir, gift and resort industries, the International Gift Exposition in the Smokies® attracts buyers from all over the country. The 2015 event experienced an increased buyer attendance and again welcomed industry-specific buying groups as they attended networking dinners sponsored exclusively by IGES exhibitors. These buying groups included museums, waterparks, campgrounds, the National Caves Association (NCA) and amusement parks and attractions. Additionally, the National Association of Retail Buyers (NARB) held their popular fundraising event, the NARB Hoedown, at the Sevierville Convention Center and the Zoo and Aquarium Buyers Group (ZAG) held their annual dinner and meeting at the LeConte Center. Many of these events will take place again in 2016, guaranteeing the attendance of these popular buying groups at the 2016 IGES show.

History was made November 3, 2015, as the Sevierville Convention Center welcomed a record number of buyers onto the show floor on opening day.

Show dates for 2016 are: Sevierville, November 1-4 and Pigeon Forge, November 2-5. For more information, please visit www.iges.us or call 800-430-7608 to speak with one of our friendly management team members.
