Asia America Wholesale Show Miami
This year’s Asia America Wholesale Show has thousands of new product lines and new vendors. Buy direct from Asian and United States manufacturers and reps and now manufacturers from Latin America. The show has become the main product source for buyers from the Caribbean, Latin America and the Southeast United States for over seven years. The show has bi-lingual capabilities.
The products on display include general merchandise, consumer electronics, cellular, apparel, health, jewelry, linens, drapery, smoking, vapor, holiday, uniforms, appliances, outdoor, variety, closeouts, liquidations, beauty products, toys, housewares, kitchenware, souvenirs, gifts, novelties, party supplies, sports equipment, rugs, vitamins and more.
Please register free online before August 20. The show dates are August 21-23, 2016, and the location is the Miami Beach Convention Center, Hall C, 305-262-3200. Sports Licensing and Tailgate Show
Networking events at the 10th annual Sports Licensing and Tailgate Show included the Opening Night Party, happy hour on night two and the NFL Championship games on Sunday.
The 10th annual Sports Licensing and Tailgate Show took place late last January at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The show was the largest to date, featuring 385 exhibitors, 108 of which were new to the show. Licensors made a big impact this year - CLC, Fermata Partners, Learfield Licensing, NHL, NBA, NASCAR and NFL Players Inc. all had a presence on the exhibit floor.
Despite tightened qualification criteria, attendance increased 8 percent over last year, with just over 2,000 qualified buyers in attendance. Attending retailers included: Amazon, Dunham’s Sports, Burlington, Dillard’s, Wal-Mart and many others. Collegiate licensing departments from 35 universities were also in attendance, including representatives from UCLA, Indiana University, Kansas State, Iowa State, Oklahoma State and many more.
The License to Buy buyer incentive program was back this year and more popular than ever. Over the three days, 140 buyers submitted orders totaling $3.4 million.
The show floor was buzzing this year with business, networking and education. The Independent Retailer Conference returned for the second time, offering focused seminars with topics specific to the independent retailer.
Next year’s show will take place January 17-19, 2017, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, South Hall. Booth sales are well underway, with more than half of the floor already sold. For three days last May at New York City’s Jacob K Javits Convention Center, SURTEX®, a premier North America event for the selling and licensing of original art and design, welcomed more than 200 exhibitors to launch new designs and meet with retailers and manufacturers. The event attracted thousands of manufacturers and brands that license or buy art for finished products in industries such as home goods, stationery, furniture, giftware, toys, housewares, home textiles, electronic accessories and more.
“This year’s SURTEX was filled with beautiful art presented by new and returning artists, emerging trends and tip-filled education sessions,” said Liz Crawford, vice president and group show director. “Inspirational young artists made their mark on the textile industry, and took advantage of networking opportunities and much more. Each year SURTEX attracts designers from around the world and attendees from increasingly diverse categories resulting in an unparalleled business opportunity for all who participate.”
SURTEX welcomed prominent buyers and manufacturers including American Greetings, Anthropologie, Crate and Barrel and many others.
“I came to find amazing designers and talent from across the world that I can’t access or find just sitting at my desk,” said Lisa Hom, Parasol Co. “I’m really looking for bold and vibrant designers. I’m from the baby category, so I’m looking for designs that really speak to that sector.”
