The Big Resort Trade Show Issue

Souvenirs, Gifts & Novelties’ (SGN) October edition is typically the largest issue of the year, and the 2015 installment does not disappoint. Retailers will find the stories covering operational tips and ideas they have come to expect from the magazine, along with special trade show sections, original store photographs and the latest product news.

SGN offers coverage of destination and independent retailing that cannot be matched. This big edition is no exception, and in it we cover a wide variety of store types and locations, including the Dollywood park, which is a top-rate attraction that now offers a resort. In a special feature, we offer a glimpse into the retail operation.

The issue also has stories on selling more gifts at country and variety stores, best buying practices at resorts, gift best-sellers at botanical gardens and garden center gift shops, how mining attractions can increase profits, travel center, truck stop, airport and cruise ship retail.

Candles and personal care products can generate solid interest from shoppers, and we feature a story on advice for best displays at resorts, gift stores and boutiques with the bonus sidebar Lotion Favorites for Smooth Profits.

Apparel and jewelry can be customer favorites, and in this big issue we offer an expanded section covering these important merchandise categories. Store types reported on in the section include resort, seaside, apparel, jewelry, waterpark, amusement park, hospital and museum.

We also feature stories on selling more themed resort merchandise, T-shirts, jewelry and fashion accessories at zoo gift shops, popular logo items, toys and games at college and variety stores, licensed and logo merchandise at college and fan stores, gifts at Minor League Baseball Parks, candy and snacks at country and general stores, nostalgic signs and gifts and rock and gemstone souvenirs at caves and caverns.

In the recurring Zoo and Aquarium Section, we cover boosting name-dropped and custom merchandise sales, best-selling home décor, staff training tips and children’s gifts.

We also cover baby merchandise, plush and toys, souvenir trends at Public Lands Partner Stores, holiday party store merchandise trends and a gift store renovation project at The University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archeology and Anthropology in Philadelphia, Pa.
