Business on the Up and Up October 2016

The October issue of Souvenirs, Gifts & Novelties (SGN) is traditionally the largest of the year, and this big edition is no exception. We hope you enjoy all of the new information in this fresh batch of informative stories and that the advertisements will inspire you to buy.
This issue is also in part devoted to the two November Tennessee trade shows – IGES and Smoky Mountain.  We offer special sections that cover news and products from these important industry events along with original articles produced by SGN of interest to show-goers or any retailer. SGN is also widely distributed at many other trade shows from October through December.
This edition is also packed with the useful stories you can depend on from SGN issue after issue. In our Special Beach and Resort Section, we cover: jewelry at resorts; how to accelerate you fashion accessories sales;  tips to sell more toys and games at beach stores; and a profile of Cape May, N.J.’s Sunset Beach.
In the Apparel and Fashion Accessories Section, we cover selling more apparel and fashion accessories at hospital stores and college stores and perspectives on merchandise display.  Jewelry at museum stores, stocking the best jewelry at inspirational stores and jewelry choices at resorts are covered in the Jewelry Section.
SGN is the official publication for the Zoo & Aquarium Buyer’s Group (ZAG) and the National Caves Association, and no trade publication covers the retail picture at these locations like us. In this issue’s Zoo and Aquarium Section we offer stories on: quality gifts; the top-selling souvenirs during the summer of 2016; nature-themed gifts; and name-dropped and personalized souvenirs. You can also read about the sale of souvenirs, plush and toys at caves.
We also offer stories on: historic cemetery gift stores; plush and toys at toy stores, baby stores and sports merchandise outlets; personal care, candles, signs and edible gifts at country stores;  home decor at gift stores; gifts at inspirational and hospital shops; advice to sell more stationery; best-selling merchandise for the traveling public; trends in pet gifts; and the outlook for party stores selling supplies and decorations.
I hope you enjoy the issue. Please email me at editorsgnmag@Kanec.com or call 610-645-6940 ext. 0 with your comments, questions and suggestions. Don’t forget to visit SGN on Facebook and follow us on Twitter and Pinterest.
