Independent retailers nationwide are invited to participate in a free shopping event that supports small businesses and gives back to the retail community.![]() The Boutique Hub, a community-based organization supporting independent retailers, has selected Heart on Main Street, a nonprofit dedicated to assisting independent retailers across the country, as its 2026 giveback recipient for its Pink Friday fundraiser. Pink Friday is The Boutique Hub’s annual celebration encouraging consumers to support small businesses before Black Friday. Taking place Friday, Nov. 20, Pink Friday brings independent retailers together under the message #SupportSmallFirst, encouraging shoppers to make independent businesses their first stop for holiday shopping. Participation is free for independent retailers, and this year, it comes with an opportunity to give back. For every shop that signs up to participate in Pink Friday, The Boutique Hub will donate $1 to Heart on Main Street. “Independent retailers are the heartbeat of our communities. At The Boutique Hub, we believe supporting small means investing in the people, families and communities behind those businesses,” says Samantha Conner, director of wholesale for The Boutique Hub. “We chose Heart on Main Street because they share that same commitment to the community, and we’re proud to amplify the impact we can make together with Pink Friday.” While Pink Friday originated within the boutique industry, independent retailers of all types are encouraged to participate. Gift shops, home stores, bookstores, specialty retailers, lifestyle stores and other independently owned businesses are welcome to join the movement. “Independent retailers are at the heart of the communities they serve, and Pink Friday is a great reminder of why choosing to shop small matters,” says Patrick Keiser, executive director of Heart on Main Street. “We’re grateful to be the giveback recipient this year and excited to see retailers across the country come together to support one another.” For Heart on Main Street, the partnership represents another way the retail industry can come together to strengthen independent businesses. “Every dollar we receive helps us continue our work supporting independent retailers who have experienced the hardships of a natural disaster,” Keiser adds. “When we come together as an industry, the impact reaches far beyond a single business.” Retailers can participate in Pink Friday at no cost by signing up through The Boutique Hub.
