The national charitable organization initially debuted the Home vs. Hunger campaign at High Point Market.Gift for Life, a national charitable organization for the gift and home industry, has announced that it is expanding its Home vs. Hunger campaign to the Summer 2024 edition of Las Vegas Market, July 28 – Aug. 1 at World Market Center Las Vegas. The organization has previously held Home vs. Hunger exclusively at High Point Market in High Point, North Carolina. The first-ever Las Vegas Home vs. Hunger fundraising campaign encourages manufacturers to pledge donations toward hunger relief efforts (e.g., $1 per order, rounding up to the nearest dollar per order). Each Las Vegas Market exhibitor participating in the campaign will receive a sign with an interactive QR code for display in their booth or showroom, encouraging retailers to contribute as well. CMA Gift & Home, a prominent sales agency serving the western states, plans to spearhead this expanded initiative in Las Vegas. “I’m excited to lead this kickoff and look forward to enthusiastic participation by CMA vendors,” says Emalee Hoffman, co-chair of Gift for Life and vice president of sales for CMA. “We invite other Las Vegas Market exhibitors, whether manufacturers or sales agencies, to join us in raising funds for World Central Kitchen’s crisis-related hunger relief efforts.” Home vs. Hunger first debuted at High Point Market in October 2022. Fundraising activities have included in-person events at High Point Market in Fall 2022, Spring 2023 and Spring 2024 as well as online campaigns in February 2023 following earthquakes in Turkey and Syria and in August 2023 following wildfires in Maui. With broad industry support, more than $60,000 has been raised to date for World Central Kitchen’s crisis-related hunger relief efforts. Founded in 2010 by Chef Jose Andres, World Central Kitchen (WCK) is a nonprofit organization that provides fresh meals in response to crises while working to build resilient food systems with locally led solutions. WCK has served more than 300 million nourishing meals around the world. To participate in Home vs. Hunger at Las Vegas Market, contact Emalee Hoffman at emalee@cmagifts.com. |
