Aurora World Opens Exciting New Permanent Showroom at AmericasMart Atlanta

The Asia America Trade Wholesale Show
The Asia America Trade Wholesale Show, now in its sixth year, has opened the Caribbean and Latin American Market to hundreds of exhibiting wholesalers who want to expand into these markets as well as the South Florida and Southeast US Market. Because of our success in bringing in multi-national buyers from 43 countries, the company now has two shows a year.
The company’s newest addition; the Miami Wholesale Show, just completed its second year and is heading for its third. There is enough time between shows so that seasonal products can be shown. The Denver Gift, Home, Jewelry & Resort Show has changed its name to the Rocky Mountain Gift Show, hosted August 26-31 at The Denver Mart alongside the Denver Apparel & Accessory Market and the Floral Expo. The Rocky Mountain Gift Show is the premier platform for lodge and resort wholesale purchasing, with its unique setting and bankable products, the Rocky Mountain Gift Show has been known as the gateway to the West for over 40 years!

Throughout the five-day show, the Denver Mart will host nearly 450 permanent and temporary exhibitors, showcasing approximately 7,500 collections and manufacturers, all within an updated and highly accessible setting. Buyers from 11 surrounding states and beyond will be in attendance, including specialty buyers from localities such as the National Parks, ski resorts, hospitals, museums, souvenir shops, airports, zoos, spas and more. The Rocky Mountain Gift Show starts with a preshow August 26-27 and runs until August 31, 2015. Show organizers for Outdoor Retailer, a large outdoor gear, apparel, accessories and technology tradeshow, announced recently that the Winter Market 2016 will stage January 7-10, Thursday through Sunday, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, with the All Mountain Demo moving to Wednesday, January 6, 2016. Future Winter Market shows are slated to remain in that earlier timeframe as well, with the 2017 show slated for January 7-10 and the 2018 show scheduled for January 6-9.
Outdoor Retailer’s move to an earlier Winter date pattern is supported by responses to research conducted and sent to well over 6,000 specialty retailers and exhibitors earlier this year.
“There are three major reasons the market prefers the new dates,“ said Marisa Nicholson, vice president and show director. “First, the move earlier in the sales cycle benefits specialty retailers looking to finalize or tweak orders before ordering deadlines and see new products and suppliers earlier. Second, we avoid being close to other industry events and away from the important Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. Finally, the new dates allow us to avoid the Sundance Film Festival entirely, which will have a housing benefit.“
The shift in the 2016 show date ensures that the industry tradeshow will best serve specialty retailers by launching ahead of final ordering deadlines. As a result, Outdoor Retailer will provide a better platform to finalize orders, identify marketing and merchandising collaborations, and develop programs to drive consumer sell-through. Newer suppliers and products will benefit from being seen and considered earlier in the sales cycle as well.
“We have been listening to customer feedback from both retailers and manufacturers,“ said Nicholson. “As a team, we are always looking for ways to improve the value of the show to not only our attendees and exhibitors, but to the industry at large. This adjustment will pave the way for us to increase ROI for our exhibitors while helping specialty retailers shop the show in a timeframe that maximizes their time spent on the show floor.“
The change in show days, now Thursday – Sunday, with the All Mountain Demo scheduled for Wednesday, has also provided Outdoor Retailer the opportunity to secure better housing options within the show’s block of rate-controlled rooms. The Outdoor Retailer management team continues to work closely with local community representatives to creatively address accommodations and transportation to and from the convention center.
Outdoor Retailer Summer Market will stage August 3-6, 2016, with the Open Air Demo scheduled for August 2, 2016.

Licensing and Tailgate Show
The Sports Licensing and Tailgate Show, a premier event for brand owners, licensors, licensees and retailers in the world of sports licensed products, is on pace to set records for total number of exhibiting brands. Already 85 percent sold as of press time, the show will welcome sports leagues, agents and new brands to the 2016 show, set to stage January 24-26, 2016.
Six months out from the January show, over 220 companies have already committed to exhibit, showcasing everything from apparel, souvenirs, leather goods, housewares, to shoes, and musical instruments. More than 20 of them are new to the show.
Exhibiting Leagues and Agents:
• NASCAR will be exhibiting for the first time this year. NASCAR sanctions more than 1,200 races in more than 30 U.S. states, Canada, Mexico and Europe and has one of the top-selling merchandise programs in the U.S.
• The NFL Players Inc. (NFLPI), the licensing and marketing subsidiary of the NFL Players Association, delivers access to the influence, power and personal stories of NFL players.
•NBA Properties, Inc., the the merchandising arm of the NBA, returns to the show floor next year. Prior to the event, the NBA will host its 2016 NBA Team Retail Product Expo with representatives from the majority of NBA team retailers
• The National Hockey League, the premier professional ice hockey league in the world, will be on hand to support its licensees and will answer questions from those looking to license the NHL properties.
• The Collegiate Licensing Company, CLC, represents nnearly 200 of the nation’s top colleges, universities, bowl games, athletic conferences, the Heisman Trophy, and the NCAA.
• Learfield Licensing, a world-class licensing firm that has helped hundreds of colleges, universities, athletic conferences and special properties nationwide achieve greater brand awareness and royalty revenues.

Toy Fest West
Conversations were stirred up at the annual WTHRA Membership meeting in March, 2015, with both vendors and reps acknowledging that the show has gained momentum and is growing in popularity both locally and nationally. The results of a post-show survey showed overwhelming consensus from both exhibitors and buyers that everyone could complete their business at ToyFest West in three full days, eliminating a half day on day four.
The Board voted in May adopt the following revised schedule for ToyFest West 2016 at the South Point Hotel Casino & Spa in Las Vegas, Nevada:

The evening promises to be memorable with a fabulous banquet, Hall of Fame inductees, Retailer of the Year award, entertainment, and other exciting and fun additions that will be announced at a later date. Retailers won’t want to miss the fast paced and well-attended Game Night now scheduled for Sunday evening.

For the first time, Cape Shore will be attending Surf Expo, September 10-12, booth 2773.
